Play Like a Champion Leaders' Conference

Coaches and administrators from sports organizations across the U.S. and Canada gathered at Notre Dame for the Play Like a Champion Today National Sports Leadership Conference. The 2013 edition of this annual event is being hosted June 21-23 by Play Like a Champion Today, a unit of the Institute for Educational Initiatives and the Alliance for Catholic Education.

The conference offers professional development for coaches, athletic administrators, sport parents and officials at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels, with a special emphasis on developing the whole person through sports. It is a great opportunity to network, share best practices, and hear what other like-minded coaches and administrators are doing to uplift youth and high schools sports across North America.

Featured speakers include famous sport personalities and Notre Dame coaches and faculty addressing the power of sport. The Leadership Conference also provides an in depth introduction to Play Like a Champion for those who want to apply the approach to their organization and for those who would like to become Certified Play Like A Champion Trainers.

The weekend conference provides participants with:

  • Mastery of Play Like a Champion Today coaching philosophy and materials.
  • A comprehensive “game plan” for elevating the climate of youth sport in schools and organizations.
  • The knowledge and resources to lead Play Like a Champion Today Workshops for coaches and parents in schools and community settings.
  • Membership in a network of ethically minded sport leaders.

The conference concludes with dinner in the Press Box overlooking the historic Notre Dame Football stadium and a tour of Notre Dame athletic facilities with an opportunity to hit the original “Play Like A Champion Today (R) sign in the Notre Dame Football Locker Room.
